About JRPG.ca

I started JRPG.ca in 2022 to share my passion for Japanese Role Playing Games with the world.

Hi there! I’m Antoine Clerc-Renaud but you can call me Tony. I’m a web developer / web designer / SEO specialist. But mostly I’m passionate about video games and JRPG in particular.

It all started in 1992 when my father bought our first computer (it didn’t even have Windows!). By some twist of fate, I played Castle of the Winds, a very rudimentary RPG but that was enough to have me hooked.

My proper introduction to JRPG was with Mystic Quest / Final Fantasy Adventure for the Game Boy. I discovered how Japanese developer thought and told stories and I loved it. To this day, it is still one of my favourite games of all time.

Years later, in 1997, I discovered Final Fantasy VII (that I played for the first time on PC). That same year, I had my first taste of the internet and emulation that allowed me to play so many great games. And that’s what I want to share on JRPG.ca through news, reviews, opinions, and more!
